The IT Co-op (Help Desk) provides daily support, management, upgrades, and deployments of all organizational issued systems at its multiple locations. Areas of Responsibility:

- Installing and supporting office productivity tools (MS Office). - Implementing and maintaining all Public Health computer hardware, using automation where applicable. - Administering Public Health’s LAN, WAN, and Internet connectivity. - Administering Public Health’s email system. - Providing support to Public Health’s agency web site via consultation with the Communications department. - Developing scripts to automate tasks. - Maintaining current inventory of hardware and software. - Providing support and maintaining the telephone system. - Administering VPN application to support remote workers. - Maintaining local Access/SQL Server databases as required. - Providing technical support to Ministry Systems through consultation with Ministry Technical Support, key public health personnel, and health systems user groups. - Providing support for non-computer technology including but not limited to copier, telephone, voicemail, and facsimile systems. - Creating and maintaining IT related documentation when necessary. - After hours work may be necessary due to project schedules, deadlines and/or reliability issues.

**Hours of Work:**

Regular Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (35 hours per week) This position requires onsite presence at our Guelph office Monday to Friday

**Requirements:**

- Minimum of one year post-secondary school in an information technology program. - Students must be eligible and enrolled for a co-op placement as part of their program. Students will be asked to provide proof of their eligibility. - High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. - Problem solving skills. - High degree of comfort with computers, able to adapt and learn computer programs quickly. - Strong customer service skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Must be willing and able to travel to work on site at our Guelph office Monday to Friday.
