Annual salary: 1,792.24 - $2,257.45 biweekly

**What you'll do**

So, we recommend you apply early! The location for this co-op postings is in the Edmonds Office, Burnaby, British Columbia. We are looking for a team-oriented Co-op student who demonstrates strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills to provide assistance and learn in the areas of data analytics and computer sciences. Activities may include a mix of: data preparation and analysis, statistics, writing queries/procedures in Oracle SQL, documentation and report writing for business, working with our Asset Registry database that contains transmission & distribution outage and asset data. Project work will be based on student interests / strengths. The student will learn about the utility industry and be given the opportunity to develop his/her communication skills, computer skills and professional judgement.

**What you bring**

- To qualify as a candidate, individual's must be enrolled and yet to graduate from a recognized post-secondary institution in

Canada.

- 3rd of 4th year students studying computer science, math/statistics, or electrical engineering; with previous work

experience are preferred.

- Strong analytical skills, combined with good judgement and ability to learn quickly.

- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Knowledge of SQL would be an

asset. Confident at learning new and specialized program environments.

- Strong interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills are an asset and the ability to work efficiently,

independently and in a team environment.

- Strong attention to detail.

**What we offer**

- As a condition of employment at BC Hydro, a background check clearance will be required. This may include: reference

checks, education verification, employment verification, criminal record check, drivers abstract review, and a drug and alcohol test.

- All positions will be hired first as a four month work term. For some positions, there is opportunity to extend, to eight

months.

- Students are expected to work at the job location for their co-op role and it is the student’s responsibility to relocate

themselves if necessary.
